How do I apply for a traineeship?

Office administration traineeships

Each QBuild region is responsible for recruiting their office administration trainees. This usually occurs between November and February each year. In many cases, the regional offices source their trainees from:

Horticultural and construction worker traineeships

Each year in October, QBuild places an advertisement in The Courier-Mail announcing its traineeship opportunities. When you see this advertisement, you can apply by completing the online application form.

Upon receiving your online application form, QBuild will send an acknowledgment email to the return email address given. Please note that this email acknowledges that your application has been submitted and does not guarantee you a traineeship. Applicants will be selected for interview using a merit based process. Successful applicants will commence employment early in the new year (February).

How long will the traineeship take?

A traineeship will usually take around a year to complete. During this time you will gain skills both in the workplace and through a Registered Training Organisation such as TAFE.

What level of education should I have?

Applicants should have a minimum education standard of Sound Achievements in English and Mathematics at the year 10 level; however it is anticipated that most successful applicants will also have completed year 12.

Successful completion of an appropriate pre-vocational or pre-employment course is highly desirable.
