Disaster management services
Community service - Supporting communities during a disaster event.
In the event of an emergency contact your local QBuild office.
QBuild is committed to delivering a quality disaster management service to all Queensland communities via its 13 regional offices.
Disasters can be either natural disasters (cyclones, floods), technological disasters (computer system failure leading to loss of water/power supply), or terrorist-related incidents.
QBuild's extensive statewide network means it is ready to respond to any disaster event.
Our services cover everything from acquiring emergency supplies, to providing building and engineering advice and services. We specialise in:
- Appraising the extent of damage
- Repairing or reconstructing damaged public assets
- Arranging for temporary accommodation, where required
- Co-ordinating response/recovery equipment and human resources
- Co-ordinating the repair and replacement of damaged communication systems
- Providing technical advice to mitigate against damage from future disaster events, where possible
By working in partnership with the Department of Emergency Services, Department of Families, Queensland Police, Queensland Transport, and other state government functional support agencies, QBuild is well positioned to help get communities back on their feet after a disaster event.
